Call for Submissions 2019

We want to showcase your work!

The Margins Guitar Collective is a collective of people who are committed to creating and supporting a diverse and inclusive guitar community. As a collective, we especially support the creation of new works for guitar by diverse collaborators. Currently, we are seeking submissions of writings and various forms of media for a collaboration between collective composer Zachary Seely and collective director Ciyadh Wells. Together these two are working on a collaboration addressing issues such as mass incarceration, prison abolition, the prison industrial complex, and other similarly related topics. Through this call, we are looking for text or similar media that will be incorporated into the piece. Submissions or mediums can include poems, any essay length, narratives, song lyrics, letters, conversations transcripts, and any other media. Written or audio versions of any medium will be accepted. Both samples and completed works will be accepted. The chosen submission(s) will receive compensation for their work  including performance royalties. Submission will also be printed in the score.
